Planning a Winter Wedding!

I am yet helping out another one of my girlfriend's plan her wedding this winter. I guess they all ask me because, I have a little knack at the creative and decorating stuff. I don't mind, I feel needed and loved. I think the best part of it I get to do something I love without having to pay for it! Since, my friend's wedding is in December I thought about having holly and berry flowers, and some really neat wedding bells as wedding favors for the tables. The evening wedding will be just glorious with the white table cloths and silver bells and red holly. She really loved the idea and let me run with it. I was even thinking of throwing out the Santa idea but, as a joke. I think she would of gone for it too, if I hadn't said I was kidding! If the weather holds out, we'll see if we can get some kind of snow machine to imitate fake snow, since I don't think we will be flying everyone out to the mountains! Which would be lovely, but, very unlikely. So far, so good, we have half of our list checked off and, winding down to the little odds and ends. We are all getting pretty excited! I will definaltely have to take a ton of pictures to share!

A Healthy Hobbie!

I like to try new things, so, I decided to start my own indoor garden and, try out my green thumb! Now I grow vegetables for my family! It's rewarding to know that I can actually eat what I grow. I have to say that the grow lights that I purchased helped out tremendously. Now the vegetables at the dinner table are home grown and pesticide free! Knowing that I can contribute to the health of my family by growing organic produce, makes me feel good. Being able to grow and nurture vegetables and then find new and interesting recipes is a great way to not only keep focused on health, but it's a wonderful activity to share with kids. The kids are so interested in growing vegetables, they help me out quite a bit now! It's a great way of learning and, has is a fun hobby for the whole family!

Sadly, where I live it rains ten months out of the year! Who wants to get out in the rain and golf? I may just have to take a vacation to a spot like this where I can enjoy my new set of Ladies golf clubs! Any ideas out there of some nice places to get out on the Green?

Kid Clothes for Those Chilly Days!

Well, its about that time again to pull out all those winter kids clothes! Where I live it gets pretty chilly and, we are all wearing our winter coats by now and, we are only half way through October! I am so not ready for another round of shorter days, and darkness that comes at four in the afternoon! I will have to plan some activities for the kid's to at least get out in the backyard and play a bit, before they are shut up in the house and, drive me crazy. I have about a dozen new board games, movies, and, craft books to at least keep them occupied where i can have maybe a minute or two to get dinner ready. Then it hits me, how many more days until Christmas? I am really dreading all the shopping I am going to have to do! I just thank goodness forInternet shopping because, I really don't like taking all the rugrats out shopping with me!

Give the Gift of Food

When hunger strikes, people who really care stand up to the cause. When emergency situations arise such as conflict, natural disasters, war, hunger, and long-term assistance, programs are in place for company's to become involved in. One of the tools that they employ in their fight against hunger is a product called Plumy'nut. Featured on CBS's 60 minutes and other prominent media, Plumpy'nut is a prepackaged, easy to administer peanut butter based concoction that helps severely malnourished children (6 months to 5 years old) recover from starvation. Estella-nyc. com on online retailer of, European baby clothes, and, kids clothes, has partnered with the Action Against Hunger. During the Fall 2000 season, they will make and sell a plumpy'nut bracelet and donate all the profits to the purchase of plumpy'nuts.
